How Effective is TCPA and Is More Needed?
Though there have been record class action settlements related to the abuse of TCPA, robocalls continue.  Computer-generated voice activation systems are so sophisticated, they now generate calls deceiving you into thinking they are legitimate businesses. With these technological advances, is it time to revisit this ground-breaking legislation and once and for all put an end to robocalls and unsolicited text messages?

Hackers, Personal Data, Liability and Consumer Protection
Too often the consumer doesn’t know there’s a problem until there is a problem.  Hackers find an unsecured website (or users unwittingly allow them access) and personal data and privacy end up on the open market.  Though some parties involved often deny liability, Federal regulators often reach settlements in the millions. So, why does the consumer end up with pennies on the dollar?

How should attorneys on all sides of these situations navigate the litigation and work with various stakeholders and the local community to reach a resolution? We’ll hear from seasoned attorneys and judges with vast expertise in environmental class actions about opportunities to work with government agencies and opposing counsel, how to identify the right course of action for supporting or opposing regulatory action and leading indicators that may determine a case’s success or failure.
